Sharon Mahoney graduated from The College of St. Rose in 1994 having a variety of educational experiences including working in public schools, self-contained classrooms, preschool and home-based early intervention settings, and geriatrics within a nursing home. After graduating, Sharon spent 2 years working in an early intervention and center-based preschool program, after which she spent a year abroad teaching English to preschoolers of various nationalities, languages and cultures. Returning home in the summer of 1997, Sharon began her career at St. Colman’s, focusing on a multi-modality communication approach with students with autism. Sharon’s passion is to bring each student as close to becoming an independent communicator in today’s society as possible.
