Autism Residential Program
About us
Our goal at St. Colman’s Home is to ensure that every student is provided with the best services to allow for the most opportunity for growth potential. Our team combines mulitple teaching techniques in conjunction with our Functional Living Skills curriculum to allow every individual the most opportunity to learn how to live as independently as they can.
Our curriculum accounts for and encompasses all areas in need of independent functioning. By utilizing The Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFLS), we are able to gain an understanding of each student’s baseline pertaining to their ability to live independently. Our team then collaborates to develop an individual living plan for each student to teach them in their need areas to help foster independent functioning. We have found by utilize the AFLS in conjunction with some of the methods and principles of ABA, students are able to grow and maximize their full potential.
We understand that autism spectrum disorder is a complex neurobiological disorder that can drastically impact the lives of all who face it. Our team is in constant contact with families to help growth and allow for consistency across all environments.

A Twelve Month Residential Program
|
St. Colman’s is a 12 month program that follows the academic school schedule and calendar that includes mandatory breaks/ time off. At St. Colman’s, we look at the whole family unit and emphasize the importance of inclusivity. Therefore we encourage visitations, day trips, weekend visits, school vacations, and holiday breaks to keep families together and continue to grow an thrive. Due to the nature and complexity of autism, we know breaks can be difficult for our students and their families, therefore we offer family supports and in-services to ensure that each family is as successful as possible, is prepared, and has the knowledge needed for consistencies and generalization of skills from school and residence to the family and home environment. We also provide assistance to those families who may need additional support services. These services may include additional help during time at home, outside behavioral health assistance, assistance with outside appointments, as well as assisting with the transition from a school aged student to the adult services world. Our mission is to not only improve the life of the students we work with, but their families as well. We understand the importance of offering as much help and assistance as possible to ensure success.
Please note that St. Colman's Residential Program is not a 365 day program. We are a 12 month program that follows the school calendar making school vacations mandatory home visits.
